12ft x 10ft folding panels for Budweiser Taste Buds Promotion. We built five of these and hand delivered them to St. Louis. Note the faces fold out for photo ops.
Door rot, Mpls, MN
I often work with Hage Concrete Works on various projects but often when they are replacing a step they find some nasty things that require a bit of wood doctoring. This door was only surprising that it was still hanging in place. We had to dig all the rot out while holding up the door and replace everything with new, treated lumber.

A local Mpls sculptor needed emergency fire doors to protect the lucky party goers who frequent his infamous gatherings. Unfortunately a 12" thick brick and poured concrete wall was in the way. Not for long however.

Removing "tudor style" beams and wood trim. Building out arches to conceal the ends of new beams in porch ceilings, misc new sheathing work kept me busy for most of a week. The real work is now for Stephen Donnally Stucco to make it all look wonderful.

Sometimes a customer comes from out of no where wanting something and you wonder where else would they get this? So you do your best to make them happy and usually it works. Bob and Erika had an idea in mind for their front entry and to their credit were able to draw it well and research designs. It was left simply for me to make it happen.
Carriage house redemption, St. Paul, MN
Three stalls housing horses and carriages with a living quarters above had, through the ravages of time and the poor planning of earlier carpenters, succumbed to massive rot. Depke Co. came and, with the magic of house movers (who are these guys?), lifted the entire structure a foot off the ground. That allowed me to cut two rotted feet off the bottom of the entire structure and replace the sill plate with a new treated plate. Ole Hage and his brave crew dug a new foundation and laid block. When done it all fit together and will last another hundred years.
With timbers and shims and steel beams the house is raised and held off the ground while work is done to replace it's foundation and rebuild it's walls.
Garage plate rot, Saint Paul, MN
Poor initial construction technique necessitated replacement of the sill plates on the entire garage. Even the wall joists were rotted off at the bottom so we had to sister on new joists all around. Once Ole pours a new footing the garage should be saved.
